In the Meanwhile.

The morning started around 4am when we heard the pounding of a drum that lasted about 30minutes as someone walked through our neighborhood letting people know they could get up, pray, and eat before the sun rose. Apparently this is the norm during the 30days of Ramazan here...
The atmosphere has changed here with Ramazan. The air is thicker, and people are just flat out grumpier (no food or water during daylight will do it). A sp.rtl sense (for us) of a pressing in to Baba is evident. More wshp and praying is necessary, and it lightens the heaviness.

We have had difficulties arise with our new apartment, which is still not ready yet (some lost in translation, and some big procrastinations on landlord's part). Then our moving company fired us today (we had to change the dates again, due to an unfinished apartment). We know Baba is working in the midst. James reminds us If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving Baba [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). that we ask for wisdom and can expect that He will give it to us. So we are thanking Him for giving us wisdom in how we handle our circumstances. We have also been encouraged with Acts.. And He made from one [common origin, one source, one blood] all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined [their] allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation (their settlements, lands, and abodes), So that they should seek Baba, in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us. This vs has come up several times in our move and we really are encouraged by the HS through it.

Today Silas was playing with a friend at school and his friend got really hurt, though it was unintentional, we are asking for grace and smoothing over with the friend (and his family) and all those at Si's current school. I think he took it really hard emotionally (people at school blamed him and were angry with him). Then later this evening we were leaving a store when Silas had a too-close-for-comfort encounter with a speeding car. It scared all of us. Poor Si, what a day for him. Before bed he expressed how sorry he was about not looking for cars in front of the store. We re-enforced with him how accidents do happen, and we all make mistakes, but we hopefully learn from them. We also re-enforced that he is a blessing from Baba, smart, and we love him so much (lately he says negative things about himself when he messes up).

I am hopeful and asking Baba for a breakthrough with this apartment, and for His provisions through it all. Also, that we will be expressions of His light and love in the process. We've been counseled by locals and other workers that culturally, one must press and press and sometimes threaten in order for things to be accomplished here. This is not what we are accustomed to, but Caleb has been graciously pressing each day, and today had to press a little harder. Not comfortable for us, but necessary. We really hope tomorrow we will see what they've been promising for days now.
There are several other things that happened today, but I think that's enough for one post.
There was a message I heard once about the "Meanwhile"...about what Baba is doing in the meanwhile...I believe He's working in the midst of all these circumstances, and look forward to seeing fruit from the "meanwhile".
He appoints seasons and dwellings...so that they may seek Him.
After blowing bubbles off the balcony, they had to change - soapy bubbles were everywhere.

Hudson posing.

They can be so sweet...you can really see Hudson's missing tooth here.

A lady selling goods at Kadifekale (Castle in Smyrna). People like her are fasting all over this country for the next 28 days.

What are they doing here? Is it a building burka?
